THE MATA ORTIZ CALENDAR OF EVENTS attempts to track anything of special note relating to the archaeology, history (Spanish-colonial era; the hacienda culture; Pancho Villa and the revolution of 1910 which began in Casas Grandes; Mexican Apaches; Mormons; Mennonites), eco-touring, birding, and other attractions of northwestern Chihuahua, Mexico with particular emphasis on the Municipio of Casas Grandes and, within it, the ceramic art and artists of Mata Ortiz. We trust you will find it easy to navigate using the category links on the left. Within each category, set your finder to double asterix (**) to quickly go to items that are new or significantly changed since that category’s last update (view the head of each category to see when the last update occurred).
